The MatWorks Pilates team have one thing in common – their love of movement! Their instructors want nothing more than to share their specialist knowledge in order to aid clients in reaching their health and wellbeing goals. Our Pilates team all have degrees in dance studies and utilise this knowledge to build a programme guaranteed to improve strength, mobility and flexibility. With our customised scaffolded classes, everyone is welcome as we can cater from beginner to advanced while accommodating for injuries.

Phoebe Heyhoe

Phoebe is the owner and director of MatWorks Pilates. She has certificates in Advanced Pilates for Mat and Reformer as well as specialising in Pre and Post Natal Pilates. People are her passion along side movement so for Phoebe, Pilates is the perfect combination.

Phoebe trained as a professional contemporary dancer, but soon realised that teaching is where her heart lies. Working full time as a Pilates instructor around Auckland for over 5 years Phoebe has seen clients with extremely varied issues and enjoys the challenge of creating classes to suit each individuals needs. The thing she loves most about Pilates is that it encourages you to go beyond your daily range of movement. This keeps joints alive, muscles active, and teaches you which muscles you should be activating, and when.


It’s invaluable body knowledge that you can apply to any area of your life. Other than running her business and teaching Pilates, Phoebe enjoys going to watch shows, dancing and eating great food.
